- Everyone in our greater Kundalini Yoga community deserves to be safe and treated respectfully.
- Teachers and teacher trainers sometimes cross the line and may not realize their actions are harassment or unethical. Education is an important part of addressing and preventing these behaviors.
- It is important to embed The KRI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct within our Kundalini Yoga community and culture.
- To support our Kundalini Yoga community to do better, be better, and always strive to attain better ethical, professional, and inclusive practices.
- To promote the safety and ethical treatment of all those representing and participating in Kundalini Yoga teachings.
- To deepen every Kundalini Yoga teacher’s personal understanding of ethics and help ensure that ethical behaviors and professional standards are maintained.
- To build awareness of diversity and inclusion issues (e.g., issues of women’s rights, anti-racism, equity, LGBTQIA+ rights, and other anti-discrimination movements) so we may all learn to listen to and better understand these voices.
- To prevent and reduce the number of Code of Ethics violations by Kundalini Yoga teachers and trainers.
- To nurture a caring, conscious, and ethical culture.
Ethical living supports my growth, transformation, and healing by:
- Fostering self-awareness
- Cultivating Inner and outer harmony
- Enabling self-correction
- Nurturing feelings of compassion, reverence, respect, and sacredness
This course will help me:
- Gain a deeper awareness of my role in the teacher-student relationship;
- Expand my conscious understanding of ethical issues and understand the impact of my behavior.
- Learn how to prevent misunderstandings.
- Identify and consciously confront harmful behaviors. As teachers and teacher trainers we must speak up about any inappropriate behaviors: “If you see something, say something.” (And, if you see a breach of The Code of Ethics, please contact the EPS Office.)
- Be the best person I can be and prevent harm by demonstrating the highest values, and ethical behaviors
